What is "photography" ?
Photography is a process photo art that we create through the lights. This process photo art are recorded through lens, then into the image sensor inside of body camera that we capture from the light range. In addition, this process also using DSLR camera.
Do you know what is DSLR?
DSLR means Digital Single-lens Reflex camera. DSLR also mirror-less and different from compact camera or phone camera. Beside, DSLR also interchangeable camera. Why? Because it's one of the biggest advantages that you can get from the DSLR over a point and shoot.
Canon EOS 500D
Also, in photography had an element that photographer put inside of their photos which mean they made their photo alive or had a story behind them. This is why photography is an art.
For those that learn photography need to know the basic of photography which is Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO.
For me, aperture is an opening lens to control the prevent light and incoming light. The larges number that you use for aperture, the more light will prevent (e.g f/16)
The times table below are additional notes about aperture for you understand more.

S H U T T E R S P E E D
The length of time your camera shutter is open and captured in "second" either slow or fast, exposing light onto the camera sensor.
Shutter speed is measured in second, so the bigger denominator inside of camera is open, the faster the speed. (e.g 1/1000 is much faster than 1/30)
The shutter will react at the 'square' part which means transmission of the image from the lens. The light will reflect at the 'square' part and capture the light depends on the shutter speed that we set. The slow shutter will capture more light while the fast shutter will capture less light.
Another than that, if you use the fast shutter speed, your photo will freeze and get zero blur even your object are move fast while the slow shutter will make more blurring in your photo. Slow shutter are used to capture water movement (mostly) to see the water speed. Plus, you need a tripod when you want to use slow shutter cause it can't use free hand. (e.g anything slower than 1/60)
Shutter speed in isolation from the other two elements of the Exposure Triangle. (aperture & ISO)
example ⇢ 1/1000 seconds - faster shutter
5" seconds - slow shutter
I S O
A camera's sensitivity to light explained, and how to used it.
ISO stand for International Organization of Standardization, the main governing body that standardizes sensitivity ratings for camera sensor (the light sensitivity of either the film or imaging sensor)
100 (low sensitivity) to 12,800 (high sensitivity)
ISO also affects image quality which when we use a higher ISO typically translates to a 'noisy' or 'grainy'.
THE ELEMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHY
According to what my lecturer told me, there's have an elements in photography. Same as art, an element can tell us the story behind that. Also, an element supporting in photography and emphasizes one or the other important aspect in composition. Why? Because it is bring an order into a photograph.
The elements that I said is :-
↬ LINE
↬ SHAPE
↬ FORM
↬ TEXTURE
↬ PATTERN
↬ COLOR
↬ SPACE
↬ LINE
↬ SHAPE
↬ FORM
↬ TEXTURE
↬ PATTERN
↬ COLOR
↬ SPACE
This elements are just like a major role to photograph, but depends on the way that viewer looked, consciously or unconsciously. That is why those elements unconsciously created the story in photograph.
So I made some experiment and searches to gain experience with my friend as a task nor assignment with this elements. It is totally hard also and for me, not all the places that we were go had all this elements. Mostly yes but the way we create photograph and be alert with this things.
⇓
LINE
Aperture : f/5.6
Shutter speed : 1/100
ISO : 100
FORM
Aperture : f/5.6
Shutter speed : 1/160 seconds
ISO :100
Those picture are just an example that I've got when I went to Pekan Mantin which is the area that near with my college. It took 4 hours to captured things around me so my friends and I was walked from Pekan Mantin till Bukit Jelutong.
SPACE
Aperture : f/5.6
Shutter speed : 1/160 seconds
ISO : 100
Okay so all those photograph had an element which is LINE, FORM & SPACE. Here I am sorry if my photograph not good enough to show this elements but this is my experienced as a student to explore photography.
Mine was got a lot of sort things happened and challenges around us but I am satisfied enough cause still I can show you guys part of the elements that I captured.
Stay tuned!
THE COMPOSITION
Composition can be describe nor define as a placement in art photography. Same as you capture the photograph using your phone. It is either in a right, middle or left or we can call it as a grid.
A good composition actually requires the good balance in photograph. A good composition also has enough detail inside photograph such as elements but not too many or less. That is why composition can balancing your photo and a good composition also is the best way to present what you are trying to tell or pass on.
example :
So this is an example that I took from google to explained the composition.
So another example for the composition is :-
Aperture : f/5.6
Shutter speed : 1/160 secs
ISO : 100
So this is the street photography and the composition are in the middle.
Place : Pekan Mantin, Selangor
You can set the composition line on your camera so as beginner you can learn slowly. Also me, as a student and new to photography did the same thing.
If you want to make a great photograph ever, just step out and travel from the near at your place till whole world.
"To learn photography, make a first step and continue, don't be afraid." This words are from my friend Ramadhan Sinclair, The Top 10 Youth Sony World Photography 2016.
UNDEREXPOSED, CORRECT-EXPOSED & OVEREXPOSED
Before that, what is expose ?
= To expose something such as film to insufficient such as light (per unit area) So unfortunately, you can get underexpose, overexpose and correct expose. Photographer may carefully overexpose or underexpose to eliminate unwanted detail.
Underexpose :-
= When you shoot, it is become dark. Your photo also not balance and less detail. It is out-of range value or we can say it black. In addition, it has loss of shadow detailed. The dark areas also muddy or indistinguishable from black.
Overexpose :-
= Can be describe as loss of highlight detail. The exposing film are too much light or too bright. You can get overexpose photo if the camera setting is wrong.
Correct Exposure :-
= All the exposure are right and of course the right camera setting. The photo are balance with the complete detail which is the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The highlight nothing blown out and lost in shadow in an image achieve the correct exposure.
↴
UNDEREXPOSURE
Aperture : f/10
Shutter speed : 1/400 secs
ISO: 100
OVEREXPOSURE
Aperture : f/5.0
Shutter speed : 1/100 secs
ISO : 400
CORRECT EXPOSURE
Aperture : f/7.1
Shutter speed : 1/100 secs
ISO : 400
May this will help!
BASIC LIGHTING OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Basic Lighting
Before we continue to the next level of photography, we should know the basic of lighting for studio and we need the complete equipment for basic lighting in studio.
-Side lighting

Lighting For Model (High Key)
With high-key photography, a variety of powerful lighting sources are strategically positioned to eliminate the hard shadows of the image. Image components with rich colours are prominent and areas with clean colours are washed, almost to white. High key is an excellent choice for colour and black and white photos.
Model photography, we use lighting to get the lighting effect of shadow. The model photography we do in the studio photography. I using lighting and trigger for my model.
Lighting have 2 for photography :
-High Key
-Low Key
-High Key
-Low Key
Shutter speed : 100
Aperture: f/16 50 mm

Depth of field: Great
Lighting For Model (Low Key)
With low key photography, lighting is reduced in order to produce images characterized by striking contrasts, dark tones, and shadows. Usually, a single source of lighting is used to achieve this composition. As a result, low key images often have a rather dark dramatic quality to them. Like high key, low key is a great choice for both color and black and white photos.

Fashion Photography ( indoor & outdoor )
From basic lighting, we created an image with fashion to understand more about the power of lighting and influence on there. Fashion photography also help us show our skill and understanding about lighting.
Fashion Indoor :
Shutter Speed: 1/120 sec.
Aperture:f/18 50 mm
ISO: 100
Element: Line, colour, shadow, shape, form
Place: Studio photography
